Our take
Train people first; nobody else needs this one. The red locomotive nosing out of a brick tunnel is the strongest forced-perspective trick in the series, and at 258 parts it's the biggest of the original four without a price jump. Backdrops layer in last, so an early misalignment stays invisible for hours; platform tiles and lamp-post sockets are the tedious stretch. Rolife's troubleshooting for this kit is all wiring — wire colours, solder joints, touch board seated flush.

What works
- 258 pieces is the most in the original four-kit series, and the price sits in the same band as the smaller kits
- A red steam locomotive emerging from a brick arched tunnel gives the strongest forced-perspective illusion of the set
- Translucent plastic roof panels diffuse the light so the platform gets an ambient glow rather than hotspots
- Three controllable lights on a touch switch, with the battery box concealed
- Pre-colored boards, so no painting
What to watch for
- Glue is required and is not reliably included because of customs restrictions
- The layered backdrops go in last, so the perspective only resolves at the very end and mid-build alignment errors are hard to spot
- Fitting the platform tiles and threading lamp posts into their sockets are the fiddly steps that eat the four-hour estimate
- Rolife's own troubleshooting guidance for this kit focuses on wiring failures: matching wire colors, checking solder joints, and seating the touch board flush against the wood with no gap
